Two specialists – a broad spectrum

Dr. Javier Ruperti was born in Madrid and studied medicine at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and the University of Manchester. He has been practising medicine in Basel since 2014. He completed his doctoral thesis at the Medical Faculty of the University of Basel. His specialist training in General Internal Medicine and Cardiology took place at the Felix Platter-Spital, the University Hospital Basel, and the Inselspital Bern. Alongside his role at Herzpraxis am Claraplatz, he works as a senior physician in Cardiology at the University Hospital Basel. His particular focus lies in the care of adults with congenital heart disease (ACHD). Through his international clinical and scientific work, he has broad expertise and a wide European network in this highly specialised field. His research has been supported by the University of Basel and the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). He is a Senior Researcher at the Cardiovascular Research Institute Basel (CRIB), a core member of the Working Group on Adult Congenital Heart Disease of the European Society of Cardiology, and is pursuing habilitation at the Medical Faculty of the University of Basel.

Dr. Gino Lee was born in Basel and grew up there before moving to Seltisberg (Baselland). He completed his medical studies at the University of Basel, followed by broad and thorough clinical training at several hospitals, including Stadtspital Zürich Triemli and the University Hospital Basel, where he obtained his specialist titles in Cardiology and General Internal Medicine. Dr. Lee has been a senior physician in Cardiology at the University Hospital Basel since 2021. His clinical focus areas include specialised echocardiography, the care of patients with heart failure and cardiac amyloidosis, and general outpatient cardiology. He also holds certification from the European Society of Cardiology (ESC/EHRA) in pacemaker, ICD, and CRT therapy. Through his long-standing work at academic centres, he brings comprehensive expertise in the interdisciplinary management of complex cardiological conditions.
