General Cardiology

We care for patients with all cardiovascular conditions – from prevention and early detection to long-term management of complex cardiological diseases. Common presentations include:

  1. Chest pain · Shortness of breath · Reduced performance/exercise capacity
  2. Heart palpitations or racing heart
  3. Dizziness or fainting spells
  4. High blood pressure · Heart failure
  5. Heart valve diseases
  6. Preventive cardiology check-ups
  7. Preoperative cardiac assessment
  8. Follow-up care after cardiac procedures
  9. Care for patients with pacemaker, ICD, or CRT

Echocardiography

State-of-the-art ultrasound diagnostics with the latest imaging technology:

  1. 3D/4D echocardiography
  2. Myocardial strain imaging
  3. Radiant-flow imaging
  4. Contrast echocardiography
  5. Precise valve and cardiac function analysis
  6. Extended haemodynamic assessment

Stress Echocardiography

Exercise ultrasound of the heart for assessment of:

  1. Chest pain
  2. Coronary artery disease
  3. Exercise-induced breathlessness

Spiroergometry (CPET)

Cardiopulmonary performance diagnostics for:

  1. Shortness of breath during exertion
  2. Unexplained reduced performance/exercise capacity
  3. Sports medicine performance diagnostics
  4. Assessment for athletes
  5. Follow-up monitoring for ACHD (adult congenital heart disease) and heart failure

Exercise ECG

Cardiological performance diagnostics under physical exertion for:

  1. Reduced exercise capacity
  2. Chest discomfort
  3. Cardiac arrhythmiasn
  4. Sports medicine questions

Pacemaker, ICD, CRT and Loop Recorder Management

follow-up and device checks of:

  1. Cardiac pacemakers
  2. Implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICD)
  3. Cardiac resynchronisation therapy devices (CRT)
  4. Subcutaneous loop recorders (implantable cardiac monitors)

Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring

Wireless 24-hour blood pressure monitoring for the assessment of:

  1. Medication effect
  2. Circulatory complaints
  3. Medication effect

Long-Term ECG and Loop Recorder

Modern wireless long-term rhythm monitoring from 24 hours up to 2 weeks. Where indicated, implantation of a subcutaneous loop recorder for continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring for up to 3 years. Indications for loop recorder implantation:

  1. Unexplained loss of consciousness / syncope
  2. Unexplained dizziness or falls
  3. Cryptogenic stroke (search for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation)
  4. Unexplained or intermittent cardiac arrhythmias

Cardiac Biomarkers

We offer testing for the following cardiac biomarkers:

  1. High-sensitivity Troponin T (hs-cTnT)
  2. D-dimer
  3. NT-proBNP

For additional biomarkers and specialized analyses, we work in close collaboration with our local partner laboratory, Labor Rothen.
